Hayley Wells

I am a life-long resident of Picayune, a 2000 graduate of PMHS, and a 2004 graduate of PRCC’s ADN program, and most recently a graduate of William Carey University in the RN to BSN program.
For 12 years, I worked for several hospitals in the Med/Surg departments, home health, and hospice. I obtained certifications in IC3, Cool, and VIP through the RCU at Mississippi State University to attain a license to teach the Health Science program. As I enter my 4th year teaching, I am inspired to further my education in nursing so I may one day teach post-secondary nursing.
The student organization for health care is HOSA (Future Healthcare Professionals), in which students have the opportunity to compete in various healthcare events with other schools. Coach Griffith and I are the sponsors for HOSA.
I love the satisfaction of watching a student master a skill, achieve success on a test, and share knowledge gained in class with other students. I firmly believe in the Golden Rule and strive to live this principle out in the classroom for my students to emulate. I believe so much in Career and Technical education that I left a more lucrative job to focus on educating the next generation of healthcare professionals.
And so I leave you with my favorite quote, “Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Mrs. Wells students studying life stages in human, growth and development had a visit from Jordan and Tyler who both live with two different types of cerebral palsy.

Ms. Hannah, Jordan, Tyler and Beth Upton visit HS 2 students in November to discuss the different types of Cerebral Palsy.
Students listen as Beth Upton demonstrates some of the daily routines that she and Tyler do to get his day started
If you've never had the pleasure of meeting Jordan and Tyler, you are truly missing a blessing. PMHS is lucky to have these young men represent our school and are encouraged daily by their enthusiasm for life!

Mrs. Wells students use sidewalk chalk and 5th street to create life-sized diagrams. The students are studying body planes, directional terms and cavities.
