Yearlong
Prerequisite: Japanese 1A
We learn how to read and write three sets of alphabets. Games help us to remember the new characters!
We use various materials, such as ads, to practice our Japanese skills.
We learn about different holidays and customs. Here, we made rabbit origami for Tsukimi, or the moon viewing festival.
We break up the long block periods by doing "radio exercise" and learning how to sing songs in Japanese.
We make (and eat!) Japanese food in class. Here, we made onigiri, or rice balls.
The mayor of Tsuchiura visited JLS to celebrate the 15-year anniversary of the sister-city relationship with Palo Alto. Students have the option to participate in an annual exchange program!
