Students in orchestra refine their string technique, develop ensemble skills, and deepen their musical knowledge through exploration and performance of a diverse range of music spanning various styles, historical periods, forms, and genres. The orchestra performs in evening concerts, along with other activities such as participating in music festivals, and performing for elementary schools.

Attendance at all evening performances is mandatory, fostering a commitment to the course. Additionally, students enrolled in the orchestra have the opportunity to audition for the JLS Chamber Orchestra, and audition for the state-wide California All-State Honor Ensembles.
