TRUCK DRIVING
Adult Education Course: This class is the same as the high school program except it will be offered to adults. Held in the evenings to accommodate work schedules, this accelerated class meets for one semester.
Course Description: Due to the growing demand for qualified and well-trained drivers, Patterson Adult School has developed a comprehensive program to train individuals to enter into this high demand, well paying occupation. This semester long class consists of 110 hours of classroom instruction, demonstration, hands-on truck inspection, and practice on state of the art Truck Driving Simulators. Upon completion of the classroom training component, students will advance to the behind the wheel training component consisting of 60 hours of on the road driving, parking, and backing training using a modern semi tractor/trailer combination. Note: Students will be required to submit a DMV H6 driving record printout and pass a drug screen as part of the process for determining eligibility for the program. All costs associated with these requirements are the responsibility of the student.

$500 behind the wheel fee
CDL Requirements:
Able to read, write and speak English
Willing to take a Department of Transportation physical examination and drug test
Not insulin dependent
Drivers with the following disqualifying violations will not be considered:
Suspended license (within the last 3 years)
Driving on a suspended license (within the last 3 years)
More than 2 moving violations (within the last 3 years)
Reckless Driving (within the last 5 years)
"At Fault" accidents (within the last 2 years)
DUI's (within the last 5 years)
