ESL1: (Low Beginning)
The class introduces non-English Speakers to English Language Literacy skills. Introduction to the alphabet, numbers, identifying sound and letter correlations, responding to basic commands, and answering and asking questions about familiar topics. The goal of this course is to build basic life skills and vocabulary.
ESL2: (High Beginning)
The class focuses on English Literacy Skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Emphasis is on spoken English. Classwork consists of activities designed to promote skills in expressing English needed for practical situations. Writing skills expand from words and phrases to basic sentence writing.
*Please note that ESL 3 & ESL 4 may not be offered for the 2022-23 school year
ESL3: (Low Intermediate)
Student expands basic language skills in speaking, reading, writing, and listening to ensure functioning competency in all practical areas of daily life. Emphasis is on spoken English. Writing skills expand basic sentence writing to paragraph writing.
ESL4: (High Intermediate)
Student expands functional language skills in speaking, reading, writing and listening to fluency and academic applications. Emphasis is on spoken English. Writing skills expand to complex sentence, paragraph and essay writing to help obtain academic and career / job-related goals.

Placement Test:
Upon completion of registration. You will be contacted and scheduled for a placement test. The placement test is required and will determine your eligibility before starting classes.
