Q. How will I know my school is closed due to inclement weather or other type of closing?

INCLEMENT WEATHER:
While you will have a parkway email, you are entered in our system differently. Your "job code" does not identify you as a regular paid employee. Therefore, you are not pulled into the automated system that sends the blast notifications for closures or delayed starts due to inclement weather. (you will not receive the call or text through this means)
When you know our area may be expecting snow/sleet/freezing rain, etc...you will need to check one of the following communications highlighted below:
Sources for School Closings and Emergencies
School closing information is provided to all local TV and radio media outlets who report closings. Closings will also be announced on Parkway’s website at www.parkwayschools.net. Closings are also posted on Parkway’s mobile app, as well as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
So - before you head out that door in the morning on questionable winter weather days - check one of the above.
OTHER TYPE OF SCHOOL CLOSING:
On occasion, a school may be closed because of a site issue such as having no power or water.
Here are a couple of ways for you to receive notification when this type of closing occurs.
If the "ALL STAFF" email option specific for your school is used, you should receive this email. (because when you are entered in our system - you will be tied to this email group)
Perhaps you and your cooperating teacher discuss that he/she also reaches out to you when these type of closures occur - to be sure you have been notified - through text or a phone call.
