Required Training

To protect the safety and security of students and employees of Parkway, Student Teachers / Counseling Interns are assigned and required to complete online modules called Vector Solutions/Vector Training  (formerly called Safe Schools.)

You will receive an email (delivered to your Parkway email) letting you know you have been assigned the training.   

Once you have activated your Parkway email,  follow these instructions to access your assigned training.   (please note the icon might look different)

• This training must be completed PRIOR to you starting the placement at your assigned school 

• Your progress will be monitored.  The principal and cooperating teacher of your assigned school will be kept up to date  

• You do not need to be on a Parkway device to complete the modules

• Because you are not an official paid employee of the district, you will not be compensated for the time to complete the training

• On average, it will take about 2-3 hours to complete

• It is not required to complete all at one time.  Progress for completed modules is saved

• SSD student teachers:  while SSD may have you complete Safe Schools or complete a sign off with similar policies, we try not to have you duplicate any trainings 

• There is no need to print or send your completion certificates as these are recorded electronically
