Grading

Your child will receive a report card grade in art for the 2nd and 4th marking periods. This is due to the time it takes to complete projects and assess students. We want to provide a thorough assessment of your child's abilities with various art materials and objectives.

• K-2 will receive one mark on their report card for effort.
• 3-5 will receive two marks on their report card, one for effort and one for achievement.

The marks on the report card will be the same as other subject areas:

Standard Marks & Characteristic Marks.

• Achievement: Demonstrates knowledge of objectives - Standard Marks (1-4)
• Effort: Demonstrates cooperation and participates actively - Characteristic Marks (+, v, v+)
