I'm glad you are here! I'd love to tell you a little more about myself. I went to Parkland and am very honored to be teaching in this wonderful school district. After high school I attended Kutztown University where I graduated, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Art Education and a minor in Crafts. I have my Masters degree in Art Education from Kutztown as well! I love being an art teacher but I also LOVE being a student. I continue to take classes on Art Education to stay current in the field.
My first year out of college I was a substitute teacher and also taught a weekly Home-School art class. The following year I started teaching art classes at The Baum School of Art in Allentown and was an art teacher at Schnecksville. Next, I was Jaindl Elementary School's art teacher for 9 years! Now, I am returning to Schnecksville! I actually went to Schnecksville Elementary School and my mom taught here for many years! This school holds a special place in my heart and I am so excited to be back!
I have always loved art! I have many memories from my childhood of creating art projects and feeling so happy and proud! As I got older, I realized more and more, that art really is all around us and part of our daily lives! I also love that by making art we can learn how to problem solve and think creatively. This is why I am so passionate about teaching art!
My favorite art to do in my spare time is photography, painting, printmaking, and ceramics! I also enjoy spending time outdoors: hiking, kayaking, and camping! Nature inspires much of my artwork and I hope I can inspire our sharks to love art as much as I do!
