Global Collaborations: Reaching Beyond Borders

At Parklands College, we believe that exploration is most powerful when it is shared. Through our STAR Programme, we have proudly built bridges with like-minded institutions across the world - united by a common vision to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and explorers.

One of our most exciting international partnerships has been with Trinity Preparatory School in Orlando, Florida, USA. Together with the Sakhikamva Foundation and learners from Cape Academy of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (CAMST), we are collaborating on an ambitious ISS Rideshare Project - a pioneering educational initiative that will see experiments designed by South African and American students launched to the International Space Station. This project not only allows learners to apply scientific principles in real-world, space-based experiments but also nurtures global teamwork, innovation, and cultural exchange.

Our collaboration extends beyond the laboratory. Earlier this year, Parklands College proudly hosted Trinity Prep for a friendly robotics competition, where creativity, problem-solving and technical skill took centre stage. The atmosphere was electric as teams from both schools demonstrated their engineering ingenuity and collaborative spirit. The event highlighted the power of technology and teamwork to bring students from across the globe together - not just as competitors, but as partners in discovery.

Through these international collaborations, our learners are reminded that science knows no borders. Together with our global partners, we are shaping a future where education, exploration, and innovation transcend continents - and where the stars are truly within reach.
