Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development (Studio Art BFA)
Number of Pieces: 12-15 pieces.
Media: There are no restrictions on media. You are encouraged to submit a range of work that can include drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, video, digital media, and performance documentation.
Key Focus: NYU Steinhardt is looking for artists with a strong conceptual voice and a contemporary awareness. Your technical skills are important, but the ideas behind your work are paramount. The portfolio should tell a story about who you are as an artist and what you are interested in exploring. They value experimentation, risk-taking, and a unique perspective. An artist's statement explaining your work is a critical component for providing context.
