(Temporary Nurse Aide, Nursing Student, Hospital Aide or Orderly wishing to sit for the Ohio STNA exam)

How do I register for class?

  1. Visit our website at STNAClass.net.

  2. Click "CLASSES" on the horizontal toolbar and scroll down to the course you'd like to enroll in.

  3. Select "Browse Classes" to determine which class you wish to register for.

  4. Choose the course you wish to enroll in.

  5. Complete the registration form.

      • You will be prompted to make payment at the end of the registration process.

          • If you are being sponsored by an employer, etc. simply select "I have a sponsor." In the comments add the name of the company as well as the name/contact information of the person approving you to take the class.

What is an STNA?

A State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) is a nursing assistant who has gone through a Nurse Aide Training & Competency Evaluation Program, licensed by the Ohio Department of Health. STNAs were previously known as CNAs.

What are the prerequisites for the program?

  • Must be of legal working age (typically 16)

  • You do NOT have to have a high school diploma or GED

  • Must meet one of the following criteria:

      1. Currently working or have been hired to work as a Temporary Nurse Aide (in a nursing home).

          • Your employer will have to sign off that you have worked the equivalent of 75-hours of training to be eligible to test.

      2. Enrolled in a Board of Nursing approved pre-licensure program of nursing education (any state)

          • You will have to provide a transcript from your school, indicating that you have successfully completed courses that teach basic nursing skills including infection control, safety, emergency procedures and personal care.

      3. Have equivalent to 12 months (or more) of full-time employment within the preceding five years as a hospital aide or orderly.

          • An authorized representative of the hospital(s) where you work(ed) will need to provide verification on company letterhead of the total overall hours worked and if full-time or part-time status.

  • The following forms must be completed:

      1. Temp Aides

          • Letter from nursing home you are working at, validating that you have completed a minimum of 75 hours of training that occurred in a long-term care facility. The training addresses all the required areas specified in 42 C.F.R. 483.152(b).

      2. Nursing Students, currently enrolled in a BON approved pre-licensure program in any state

What will I need for class?

  • Original Social Security Card

  • US-Government issued photo ID (cannot be expired & must be signed)

  • Paper & pen/pencil

  • Scrubs (any color, any brand)

  • Closed-toe shoes (any color, any brand)

  • A laptop/desktop or tablet

  • High speed internet

Where is the school/program located?

Cincinnati Location

  • 1325 E. Kemper Road, Suite 200, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246

  • Pull in by Chuck-E-Cheese in Springdale. Park in the 1325 lot. Take elevator or stairs up to the second floor. Take the walkway to Suite 200. Our log will be on the door.

Dayton Location

  • 6540 North Main Street, Dayton, Ohio 45415

West Union Location

  • 10856 State Route 41, West Union, Ohio 45693

  • Park away from entrance in the rear or front of building. Use code posted on outside of door, enter the building. Go to the second floor, look for signage labelled "STNA Classes"


What does the course schedule look like?

  • Lecture is done virtually in Google Classroom

  • 8-hours of clinical / lab hours must be completed in-person

  • Much of this course is done independently and must be done timely

How much does it cost?

$125 total, which includes:

  • Required texts

  • Lecture

  • Software access

  • Lab fees

  • Certificate of Completion

What payment options are available?

  • $125, one-time payment

  • Sponsor - we accept payments from sponsoring organizations, such as nursing homes, home health organizations, hospitals, churches, non-profit organizations, Job & Family Services' programs, etc.

    • We can help you find a sponsor / employer if you need one!

What is your refund policy?

Refunding of monies:

1. No refunds will be offered for this program.

Where will I take my state test?

  • Great news! You can take the state test in the same place that you train during class.

  • If you prefer, you can test elsewhere - but it is not recommended.
