Job Description:
The President-Elect is an integral member of the PAPTA team. Over the first two years the President-Elect shadows the PAPTA President to learn about the structure of PTA and how each level helps the local PTA members. This person learns about the programs and events as well as the people in our state so that we can better serve them. As a key member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the President-Elect, in collaboration with the Secretary and Treasurer, works closely with the President to form the PAPTA officer team. This team provides essential administrative and strategic support to ensure the successful governance and operation of the association.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the PAPTA President to advance the organization's mission and strategic goals;
Carries out duties as outlined in the PAPTA Bylaws and Standing Rules;
Be prepared to assume the responsibilities of the PAPTA President as requested;
Serve on the PAPTA Board of Directors and attend all meetings (4-12 meetings/year);
Assist with keeping the PAPTA website updated and relevant;
Serve on the PAPTA Executive Committee and attend all meetings;
Chairs the Leadership Committee and the Region Directors Council;
Coordinates statewide PTA Leadership Trainings;
Help prepare the annual budget;
Have a working knowledge of Givebacks (PAPTA Membership Management Tool);
Attend National PTA Convention;
Attend National PTA leadership training events;
Stay up to date on National PTA news and information;
Interact with National PTA Officers and Staff as necessary; and
Ascend to serve as the PAPTA President at the conclusion of their term of President-Elect.
