Provisions for Service in the Pennsylvania PTA Governance Structure
Anyone holding a position shall be a member of a local PTA/PTSA.
Only those who have consented to serve shall be nominated or appointed.
A member shall not serve as a voting member in Pennsylvania PTA’s governance structure while serving as a paid employee of, or under contract to, Pennsylvania PTA.
Diversity, PTA knowledge, and professional expertise shall be guiding principles when making nominations or appointments.
Candidates for elected positions must adhere to the election policies adopted by the Board of Directors.
All members of the Pennsylvania PTA Board of Directors should have the following core characteristics, crucial for effective leadership and fulfilling the mission of the PTA:
Positive and proactive mindset;
Exemplary leadership;
Dedication to the mission of PTA;
Exceptional communication and listening skills;
Strong organizational skills;
Effective time management;
High ethical standards and integrity;
