Year 9 Science

Year 9 Science introduces students to the Nature of Science which  is the overarching  unifying strand of the Science Curriculum. Through it, students learn what science is and how scientists work.  Students will develop the skills, attitudes, and values to build a foundation for understanding the world.  They will learn how scientists carry out investigations, and they will come to see science as a socially valuable knowledge system. They  will learn how science ideas are communicated and to make links between scientific knowledge and everyday decisions and actions.

There are four  contextual strands which the students will explore -

The Living World - Biology

The Material World - Chemistry

The Physical World - Physics

Planet Earth and Beyond
