This unit ‘To the Rescue! Superheroes’, children will be learning about all of the superheroes around us in everyday life and how they help us. We’re going to become heroes too, by making our own costumes and imagining the amazing and incredible powers we will use to help ourselves and other people around us. READ, READ, READ to your child.
Please talk to your child about school. Talk with their key person. Talk in positive terms about how much fun they have at school and how they will be home for lunchtime. Make sure they have a good breakfast before they come to school and lots of sleep each night.
Ask your child what they enjoyed at school today? What things did they use in their play? Which songs did they sing? Ask them to show you what they did. Talk about the pictures they bring home. Try not to say "Is it a cat?", " What is this?" Instead comment on the picture. "I like this bit. "You have tried hard." "I like where the colours mix." " I can see lots of straight/wavy/curly lines." "Tell me about your picture."
