English: Non-Fiction - Non-chronological report - with a focus on structure

  • To be able to know the features of a non-chronological report


Phonics/Spelling:

  • To be able to read and spell 100 and 200 High Frequency words and some of the 110 NC statutory words

  • To be able to use a range of different spelling strategies to spell new and familiar words

  • To be able to use phase 3, 4 or 5 to read and spell words


Mathematics: Time

  • To be able to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes

  • To be able to solve problems involving time duration


IPC: Chocolate

  • To be able to research where cacao trees are found

  • To be able to know about the factors affecting the growth of cacao trees

  • To be able to know and talk about cash crops

  • About the importance of cacao beans for trade


In Technology, we’ll be finding out:

  • How to make our own chocolate

  • What we can add to chocolate


In Geography, we’ll be finding out:

  • Where cacao trees are found

  • About the factors affecting the growth of cacao trees

  • About cash crops


In International, we’ll be finding out:

  • What fair trade chocolate is

  • What other fair trade products there are

  • How important chocolate is





Homework Daily and Weekly

Daily Expectations

1. Practise spellings for weekly test each day using one of the methods we've learnt.

2. Read some of the home reader for 15 minutes each day. Parents please don't forget to sign the white diary.

3. Please practise number bonds and times tables so children know the multiplication and division fact.

4. Doodle Maths 7 a day.

Numeracy Home Learning:

Doodlemaths is the daily Maths homework.

Please continue to help your child learn the 3, 4, and 8 times tables and the corresponding division facts.

It would also be great if you could practice telling the time with your child using both analogue and digital clocks. Discuss your daily routine, what time you do things, how long activities take etc.
