Mrs. Deborah Lucas, Director of School Counseling

Mrs. Lucas is going into her 9th year at PCHS and 7th year as the Director of School Counseling. She was born and raised in Page County and is a 2007 graduate of Luray High School (don’t worry, she has added PLENTY of blue to her wardrobe). After high school Mrs. Lucas attended Shepherd University, majored in Recreation & Tourism and graduated in 2011. She always knew she wanted to work with people, just not sure in what capacity. So in 2015, she went back to obtain her Masters Degree in School Counseling through Liberty University. She graduated in May 2017 and was hired at PCHS shortly after. Building strong relationships with the students and making sure they know her office is a safe space at all times is her top priority. She also likes to ensure that she has an open line of communication with our families as well. Mrs. Lucas is willing to help however she can, come see her anytime!

Mrs. Lindsey Lucas, School Counselor

This is Mrs. Lucas’s 7th year as a school counselor at PCHS (8th year total).  Mrs. Lucas is a Class of 2013 graduate of Page County High School.  After high school, she went on to James Madison University,  majored in Psychology, and graduated with the Class of 2016.  In 2018, she graduated from JMU’s School Counseling Masters Program.  Mrs. Lucas has always been passionate about coming back to Page County to work with the students from the place that she calls "home".  She enjoys working with her students and fellow faculty members.  Her door is always open for a visit, even if it’s just a quick “hi!”.  Please let her know if she can help you explore careers, colleges, talk about academics, help with friendships, tackle any personal issues, or anything else you’d like to talk about.  She’s here for you!

Mrs. Susan Betcher, Career Coach

Mrs. Betcher is the fastest walker in the school and wants to escort you to the path of your dreams!  She is located in the School Counseling office and is available Monday - Thursday as a walk-in or with an appointment. Any questions/concerns about how to obtain your goals are welcomed.  She is here for YOU!  Your Career Coach, Mrs. Betcher, is here to talk to you about what your plans are for your future, even if you don't have any plans.  She has suggestions on how to explore what is out there in the world.   Don't leave high school without having a plan! If you are going into the work world, she can help you with a resume.  If you want to volunteer for 6 months with AmeriCorp, you can earn money to help pay for an educational path you want. If you know you are going onto school, let her tell you about scholarship money.
