Week beginning - Monday 9th February 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
It has been a week of discovery and design for Year 4! We kicked things off in the classroom by bringing our Mayan mask designs to life, transforming our initial drawings into expressive 3D masterpieces. It was wonderful to see the children take such pride in their final pieces and watch their creativity truly shine.
Our trip to the British Museum was a resounding success as we delved deeper into our study of the Mayans. The children truly shone as inquisitive historians, asking insightful questions while exploring genuine artifacts that brought our classroom discussions to life.
It was also brilliant to see the children making links to their previous learning; they took great pride in navigating the Roman Britain exhibit, showing just how much knowledge they’ve retained from last term.
To round off our hard work, the children also reflected on their progress and assessed the delicious chocolate bars they crafted last week - a very tasty end to a fantastic term of learning!

Evelyn has been a reflective and knowledgeable learner this week. She has worked incredibly hard with our inquiry into the Mayans, designing and creating a delicious chocolate bar as well as a fantastic Mayan mask. She also thought carefully when designing her own civilisation, drawing links from prior learning. Keep up the brilliant effort!
