Mr Moore's News Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to you at the conclusion of a busy and incredibly productive module. It has been "jam-packed" with inquiry-based learning, which has seen our pupils cooking, interpreting diverse musical genres, and exploring the history of crime and punishment.
It is truly inspiring to watch our young learners come out of their shells, work collaboratively, and grow in confidence. Through our International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, we strive to extend the National Curriculum, making learning meaningful so that children understand their role in society. We speak frequently about "Taking Action" to make the world a better place—whether that is organising charity events or driving a sustainability campaign. We hope this passion is being shared with you at home!
To maintain our high standards, class teachers have been checking in with pupils regarding uniform. Recently, we have noticed an increase in:
Footwear: Pupils wearing trainers instead of school-suitable black smart shoes.
Ties: Pupils attending without their house-colored ties.
Our uniform policy is a key part of our academy identity. If items have been lost or are currently being replaced, please communicate this directly with your child’s class teacher so we can support you.
I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable half-term break.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Moore

Big well done to Blossom and Betsie who both passed their swim awards this week. Blossom moving in to stage 7 and Betsie in to stage 4.
Well done both of you!
We have many fantastic clubs at LAPW! This week's showcase is Yoga!
Yoga is a fantastic opportunity that focuses on building strength, flexibility and balance while also supporting positive wellbeing and mindfulness. Each session blends gentle movement, simple breathing techniques and relaxation, helping students develop confidence, resilience and healthy habits that extend beyond the mat. If your child is interested in this please don't forget to sign up for next term!
This week we joined Place2B in their Children's Mental Health Week. The theme this year was 'This is My Place' where we explored 'Belonging'. Great discussions were had around where we feel we belong, what does belonging feel like, and who makes us feel like we belong? Belonging matters, it shapes who we are in our friendships, in school and education and in communities. It plays a vital part in our physical and mental health and wellbeing. When we feel like we belong it empowers us to contribute to the world and thrive. We hope all the children can say they feel a sense of belonging not only in all their amazing clubs, teams and families outside of school but also here at LAPW.
It's been so lovely to bring everyone together through class activities, assemblies, playground discussions and even getting the teachers involved in a teacher challenge organised by the Well Being Champions. All to spread the joy and kindness that the feeling of belonging can bring and to hear the voices of our children say...
'THIS IS MY PLACE'
#WakeUpWednesday is a campaign by the National Online Safety organisation. It's designed to help parents and carers stay informed about the latest online trends and platforms that their children might be using.
Every Wednesday, a new guide or resource is released, offering simple tips and advice on how to keep children safe online. These guides cover a range of topics, from popular apps and games to general online safety issues like cyberbullying and privacy. The goal is to start a conversation between adults and children about staying safe in the digital world.
We will upload these guides/resources here every week.
