Week beginning - Monday 8th September 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
In their Inquiry learning this week, Year 2 have been introduced to their central idea for the module. The children have worked hard to identify and classify things that are living, once alive and never alive, using their prior knowledge and new knowledge to assist them. The children have also practiced their sketching skills, experimenting with different pencil grips to create different shades. These skills were put to good use when they sketched a series of living things. In Skills, Year 2 have focused on developing their knowledge of different sentence types. From asking Bog Baby questions to writing a list of instructions on how to create a beautiful home in a bucket, the children have demonstrated their creativity and proved to be strong writers. Within their Maths lessons this week, Year 2 have demonstrated a secure understanding of numbers up to 100. They are confident in writing these numbers as words, and partitioning two digit numbers into tens and ones. It has been a wonderful week of lots of amazing learning!
