to be born - note that born is preceded by a part of the verb to be (is, will be, was, etc).
when talking about your own birth or that of someone use the past tense of to be not the present (she was born).
to die is a regular verb, it does not require the verb to be.
died is the past tense of to die.
to be dead - dead is an adjective and is the opposite of alive.
remember to use the present perfect to refer to something that took place in the past and is still true today (she had been dead for several years - not: she is dead for several years).
