Writing:
A learning tool; a personal and public communication tool; record of thinking.
Description: This is one of my many math 1 notes used as focused note taking in AVID. I chose this in particular because this is one of my best representations of a "writing" assignment. However, It's important to write every single detail down as, if you leave one article of information out, it stops the flow of the notes.
Strengths: I highlighted the important parts of my homework in order to give attention to that topic. I also did well at structuring my notes in a clear, cohesive format.
Areas for Growth: I feel that I could improve on the type of vocabulary used, as I used words familiar to me, however if a peer were to read my notes, it would seem messy and in disarray.
Description: This is my math notes, which I used again for focused note-taking in AVID. I chose this so that I could help show the improvement between last semester and this one. This also fits well in the Writing category of WICOR, as this counts as a record of thinking.
Strengths: I did well on giving attention to topics that were important to the subject. I also did well in clarifying terms while also creating a summary that both answers the essential question, and a review of the chapter.
Areas for Growth: I need to work on penmanship. My notes can be in perfect condition academically, but it wouldn't matter if it's not legible.
Inquiry:
Uncovering one's understanding; asking critical questions; engages in thinking, learning, and discussion.
Description: This is my Costa's levels of Thinking assignment, in which we were asked to formulate different "levels" of questions about a story we listened to. I chose this because this perfectly fits the "inquiry" category, as we have to ask critical questions, and engage in thinking.
Strengths: After listening to the story, I sat and I processed the information relayed. I feel that I did well at laying those thoughts out onto the assignment shown.
Areas for Growth: I feel that I could improve on the organization of the assignment, as I used some information that I may know but others may not; I should've clarified pieces of information.
Description: This is my 30-day gratitude challenge for AVID. During this assignment, we were supposed to reflect on our day, while asking critical questions to help us go through our levels of thinking. I chose this in particular because we have to reflect and think about our days, for 30 days.
Strengths: I did well at reflecting on each of my days for the month. I also included detailed descriptions for each day, which helps me remember the day's content.
Areas for Growth: It was difficult to stick to creating the descriptions for the assignment each day. I grew tired after every day that passed, in which I had to take a picture and create a summary.
Collaboration:
Teamwork with shared responsibility; sharing of ideas; information, and opinions; formal and informal discussions.
Description: This is a Tutorial Request Form, or a TRF. This is one of the best pieces to show when related to collaboration. In the tutorial, we create an essential question, which basically overlays our second type of question; initial. Our initial question is our "main" question, as that's what we mainly need help with. After, we identify vocabulary words related to the question. Then people assigned in your group help you with their knowledge and you do the same for them.
Strengths: I'm good at helping others with their work whenever it pertains to math. However, with our combined efforts, we solve most of our problems.
Areas for Growth: We may be good at helping, however we need to learn how to communicate better. We don't go off of mute so we type everything out which is slow and unresponsive.

After, we identify vocabulary words related to the question. Then people assigned in your group help you with their knowledge and you do the same for them. There isn't much change during tutorials, as it's mainly helping other peers with problems.
Strengths: Ever since we've been back at school, communication hasn't been an issue during breakout rooms. We do well in talking to each other without mainly using chat.
Areas for Growth: One area that I could improve in is self-reflection. I haven't done well in thoroughly going over what I did that period, as I just fill it out without thinking.
Organization:
Managing materials and practicing methodical study habits, planning and prioritizing school, work, and social task; engaging in mental preparation and goal-setting; strategically and intentionally taking responsibility for one's learning.
Description: This is my virtual folders for my classes at OMC. I thought that it would be the perfect fit as this is how I organize and keep track of assignments that pop up. Having these folders also help me at looking back at previous assignments when needed.
Strengths: I feel that I did well at creating folders and designating them for a certain class.
Areas for Growth: I feel like I could add assignments into the folders, as I haven't gotten to it yet.
Description: This is just one of my planners for my classes at OMC. I thought this would be the perfect fit, as this is how I organize the assignments that I need to complete for that day. It helps me keep track of which assignments that I need to do.
Strengths: I did well at organizing the assignments, along with allocating which assignments I have to do first.
Areas for Growth: I could add the amount of time it approximately takes for each assignment so that I could plan what time I start.
Reading:
Strategically gaining meaning, understanding, and knowledge from other media; purpose-driven; interactive.
Description: This is the article/audio story I had to listen to in order to answer the questions in the category "Inquiry". I thought that this would be a perfect fit for reading as this could help showcase some strategies that I implement when reading.
Strengths: I do well at breaking down and processing the information from the stories. I also do well at preparing myself for reading by writing down important words and adding a small excerpt next to it.
Areas for Growth: I may do well at reading, however I get distracted easily, which hinders my performance in processing the information.
Description: This is my Califiornia College Mutiple intellegences summary. I thought that this would be a great fit as we had to read descriptions about our difference areas of intelligence. This also helps us find a way to find our suggested careers in life.
Strengths: I did well in understanding each prompt and answering accordingly.
Areas for Growth: Like last semester, I got distracted during the reading. The assignment took longer than needed.
