The nature and scale of the Pupil Equity Fund Project (PEF) provides the opportunity for establishments to be creative and ambitious in seeking new partnerships or developing existing ones to deliver positive results in closing the equity gap.
In Scotland there is a continuing focus on ensuring that councils maximise all opportunities for collaborative working to deliver efficiencies while driving service improvement and economic growth. In an educational context this is exemplified through the Quality Indicator 2.7 (partnerships) which forms part of HGIOS4 and is based on three themes:
QI 2.7 stresses the need for effective collaborative working to create a positive impact for children and provides a range of challenge questions to assist in the scrutiny of partnership arrangements involving parents and carers, other schools, the third sector or business organisations or any combination of these.
