Each instructor likely lays out their courses a little different from one another. This page will walk you through how I have set mine up so you will know exactly where to find everything you will need for the semester!
Throughout both this syllabus site and Brightspace, you will find links to external sites, otherwise known as hyperlinks. You can see if text has a link because it will be underlined and also clickable. When you click on links to external sites, these will open in a new window or tab, so make sure that you have your pop-up blocker turned off. Links to other parts of the site (internal links) will open in the same window.
Brightspace is the dedicated learning management system here at SUNY Oswego. It also will be your main resource for this class beyond our in-person meetings. In your course site, you will find your assignments. This also is where you will submit your work and where I will post your feedback and your grades. The Brightspace site also allows me to post announcements, and when I do, copies also will be sent to your Oswego email.
In addition to our Brighspace site, you will need access to a few other resources:
Your SUNY Oswego email (all class correspondence will be sent here)
Blogger (for your reflection blogs assignment)
This syllabus site
The following sections describe the Brightspace course layout for this specific course. If you are not familiar with basic Brightspace functionality, you can watch an online tutorial that provides an overview of the basics here.
The course navigation pane (also called the menu) is located along the top of your screen under your Brightspace site navigation (outlined in yellow in the picture below). This shows you all of the major sections of the course and provides you with direct links to each. When selected, the "Course Home" link will always bring you right back to this same landing page.
