Purpose: Concept activities are a great way to get hands-on experience applying to concepts that you are learning about. They will also allow you to see how the material you are learning about relates to our everyday lives.
Task: Each week, there will be a concept activity in your weekly module folder in Blackboard. The task itself will vary based on the material, but it can range from completing a worksheet to working with outside sources (e.g., the media, police department websites, etc.). Specific instructions will accompany each activity so you know exactly what you need to do. There will be 12 concept activities over the course of the semester, and your lowest 2 scores will be dropped.
Criteria for Success: Since there is variability in the assignments based on the material we are learning, there will also be specific guidelines that need to be met to successfully complete the activity. Generally speaking, as long as you follow the directions and answer all parts of a given prompt, you will earn full credit. If something is not clear at any point, please don't hesitate to reach out - I am here to help you be as successful as possible!
Concept activities are due each Sunday night at 11:59 p.m.
