As a journalist it is incredibly important that the information I put out be accurate, reliable, and unbiased. For The Charger we have a rule that writers cannot write about something that they are involved in. This is so that there is no bias or opinion included and is rather just facts.
As associate editor of The Charger, the editor-in-chiefs and I make a spreadsheet with everything that the newspaper will cover for that month. We carefully decide who will write each article considering who is involved in what. For example, on this sheet Brody is a member of the OHS golf team therefore we did not have him write about it.
This is an example of an article that I was not allowed to write. I could not take part in writing this piece due to me being on the OHS Chargerettes dance team.
