As a student journalist it is very important to me that everyone is represented from sports, activities, genders, and races. I try my best to not only cover the most "popular" things but also include things that are not talked about as often.
Here I have attached a feature I wrote on the OHS art teacher who is shedding light on Oxford through ceramics. Many people are more interested in sports than they are in the arts but the arts are so impactful on people and not recognized enough. With this article my hope was to not only show the things she is doing but also build a stronger appreciation for ceramics.
To the left is our production days schedule. We carefully made sure that all sports at OHS were covered, not leaving any out. It is extremely important to us that every athlete is recognized for their hard work and does not go unnoticed. Doing something as small as taking each athlete's photo put a smile on their face and they were so excited to get their photos back. Seeing everyone post the photos once they got them back was so rewarding.
