This is an episode of our broadcast, The Charger Update, that I helped film for our anchors. Even though I am more biased towards the editing and writing aspects of our media group, I have been able to assist our staff in many different ways like these. As much as I enjoy writing and working with articles and design pieces, I enjoy branching out and exploring our other versions of media that are picking up speed at Oxford High School.
I wrote this article on the Soles4Souls program at Oxford High School. Soles4Souls is a non-profit organization that donates shoes to impoverished countries. Soles4Souls gives people these shoes to sell in order to make a sustainable income. This article was published for our online site, thechargeronline.com. We publish all articles here, along with a few extra articles we come across to write during the month. This allows us to stay versatile and continue to write all month. Writing is a passion of mine, and being able to investigate stories like these is what makes newspaper so important to me.
Starting this year, two of our staff members have started The Charger Media Group's newest podcast, The Bolt Buzz. This is an episode I helped film as they interviewed football captain Gray McGown. I try to assist our staff members in any way I can, and being able to do things like this is one of the many activities that I can partake in with a media group as diverse as ours.
