Law, Ethics, and News Literacy

During the month of January 2025, one of the articles I wrote was a piece on government spending in the United States. This was a very detailed piece, consisting of factual evidence from multiple different credible sources. I thoroughly analyzed what I believed to be unjust within our countries budget issues. Writing pieces like this is one of the things that I value most about the newspaper. I am able to be a voice in my community based on my opinion on issues that are bigger than Oxford, Mississippi. I was able to take a sensitive topic and highlight the flaws that needed change within our nation. I take pride in this piece since I was able to raise my voice and write an opinionated article based on the view from a United States citizen's standpoint.
