OSD teachers and staff that are members of the SCOPE/OEA Union are able to flex their daily time. Contractual work hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday-Friday. OSSB teachers work 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Teachers may flex 15 minutes before or after that time. For example, you may work 7:15-3:15, 7:45-3:45, etc. Teachers cannot flex their time during student contact hours which are 8:15 am to 3:15 pm. You still must record at least 40 hours a week and 8 hours per day.
As salaried employees, most teachers do not receive comp time except for when they work Parent Teacher Conferences. More information on how to record that time is found in the subpage "Recording PTC Time". Some other staff might receive comp time depending on their employee classification and department supervisor. You do not get overtime or comp time if you work extra hours.
