Two Way Cycle Track in Rotterdam
The Netherlands has created many cycle tracks that are interconnected and create cycle networks throughout the country. These two way cycle tracks create a separated space from motorized vehicles which are safe and efficient routes for cyclists.
A one way track is usually 3 meters wide to allow room for socializing and for cyclists who wish to pass. A two way track is typically about 4 meters where essentially four cyclists could ride side by side. I can really appreciate the fact that the design for cycle tracks included the social aspect of it. I think this adds to the overall culture around cycling and further encourages people to cycle.
The cycle network makes it easy to cycle long distances to different cities while enjoying the functional, aesthetic, safe and efficient cycle facility.
