The art piece was painted tiles in the Delft Blue museum that is an old factory for pottery that produces very interesing and pretty ceramics. This portrait was tiles with painted ships sailing and was a nice piece of art that I thought was very cool and had a lot of detail to make it a very pretty piece of art. The musuem was full of pieces like this but also things like cups, plates, and serving platters.
One of my favorite places that I went to eat for free time was a place called Boterhuis where I ordered BBQ. It was in the city center of Delft and was a very good meal with a view of the old church and city hall. The food was good and it was nice to look around the city center while eating and talking with friends from the class.
I enjoyed cycling to Kinderdijk and seeing the windmills there and the sights along the way. It was a 40 mile bike ride so there was a lot to see along the way. The class also stopped in Rotterdam for a short amount of time which was also interesting. It was nice once we got to Kinderdijk to eat lunch and explore. It was interesting to see how the dutch farmers used these windmills to water their crops by pulling it out of the canals with the power created from these mills. Although the bike ride was long it was worth the ride to see Kinderdijk.
