Oregon Math Network
The Oregon Math Network is a community of teacher leaders and college faculty who work together to support districts in their implementations of college-career readiness math standards.
We solve problems, and we share our work.
While the community spans the state, the activities will generally be locally focused and driven by district needs. Examples of such activities include, but are not limited, to the following types of activities:
- Professional development opportunities, for both teachers and administrators.
- Dissemination, both in-person and through careful on-line curation, of best available resources and successful implementation strategies.
- Support for evaluation and implementation of curricula.
- Support for building-level activities such as lesson study groups and one-on-one discussions.
- Support at parent nights.
The network could also address a number of other needs.
- Building re-envisioned high-school math tracks.
- Coherently communicating to the general public.
- Redesigning remediation in grades 12-13.
- Aligning pre-service teacher preparation to the Oregon standards.
Cooperation between classroom and content experts regionally can address a range of needs which most districts do not have the resources to address on their own. The Oregon Math Network will sustain partnerships so that our state can efficiently and coherently provide such expertise.
Together, we are the #ORMathNetwork
