Marking Period 1
I then chose this assignment as my grow because it was a quiz that I definitely would have done better on. With a little bit more of an understanding of quadratics this could definitely be a good 85 or up. In the future I could ask for more help if i really don't understand something. This assignment went into depth about finding the zeros, y-intercept, axis of cemetery, and vertex of an equation. Then also being able to graph this while also labeling the points.
I chose this assignment as my glow because I feel as though i did really well, for a exit ticket counted as a test grade. Personally in this specific topic I didn't think I was so well in so for me to get this grade on this assignment so this was a really good accomplishment. This assignment here focused on end behavior. For me to be able to get my 100 I would just need to work on understanding the positives and negatives with the f(x) values. Overall this assignment was pretty good and one of my highest grades from a paper assignment.
Marking Period 2
I then chose this assignment as my glow because it was a quiz that I got a 100 on. Even though I missed it when it was taken it literally took me 30 seconds to do. When it came to the even and odd graphs I actually did really well on those when it came to understanding. Even is when you can reflect the graph and it matches perfectly, odd is when you can rotate the graph to match perfectly, and neither is when you can not do neither of the reflecting or rotating to get it to match up.
I chose this assignment as my grow because I didn't do as well as I could've. It was a quiz on function transformation and it wasn't that I didn't understand it but it was that when it came to breaking it down on my own I didn't really know how. In this quiz we had to re-draw the graph from its original , then verbally tell how i got to the new graph, then finally make its own function rule and equation.
Marking Period 3
This assignment is glow because I received a 100 on my panel. This is an assignment where we worked on Inverse functions. I had to figure out how fast a car was going based on how long the skid marks were. I showed all my work to show how I got the inverse function and later used it to find the speed. I also was able to understand the domain and range and explained why it made sense to fit the problem. This assignment just shows what I have been learning in class helped majorly.
This assignment is my growth because of the grade. Since the way the Authentic was graded, my one mistake costed me 20 points. Exponents definitely aren't my strongest and need help understanding more. When Mr. M did go over it I was able to understand where I went wrong. It made me feel a little better when I realized I wasn't the only one with the same mistake. In the end I know its not my strongest place and math and want to better it.
Marking Period 4
This quiz was a great success for me, and i'm really proud of the work I did. My biggest glow was how accurately I used the trigonometric identities and Pythagorean therum to find all six functions. I correctly determined the angle was in quadrant II and applied the correct signs for each function based on that. I also showed clear logical steps and simplified my answers correctly. Getting a 100 shows that I understood how to work with right triangle relationships and trig identities.
One area I need to grow in is applying trigonometric identities and remembering the signs in each quadrant. On this ALEKS test, I struggled with recognizing when to use sine, cosine, or tangent and often forgot to check if the function should be positive or negative based on the quadrant. I also need more practice simplifying radicals and using the unit circle accurately. To improve, i could practice identifying trig functions by quadrant. With more practice , I know I can raise my score.
