103 Translation Static Equilibrium
This assignment is an example of the Kepler's Laws, and how they function in certain situations.
The objective of this assignment was to recreate how people find the trajectories of the planets moving around the sun in a non circular way.
The assignment fits the overall unit because we were tasked to create a ellipse to demonstrate how the center of the eclipse represents the sun and the outside demonstrates how the planets move.
I have learned that Kepler's Third Law demonstrates how the period for a planet to orbit around the Sun increases rapidly with the radius of its orbit. I have also gained a deeper understanding of the three laws that demonstrate how the orbit of different planets work.
This assignment showcases my strengths in this subject because I was able to apply my skills in research, modeling, and reasoning to model my prompt and meet the requirements.
I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to recreate my procedure, and create an ellipse to demonstrate the orbit of a planet around the sun.
This assignment connects to a larger world or community because it could be used as a reference to demonstrate the experiment and help people understand the
Authentic Assessment: Summer Assignment
This task was a test on Gravitational Forces and used different examples to calculate velocity and orbit of different planets in different scenarios.
The objective of this assignment was to answer different questions based on orbital placement and the velocity of many of them with the context learned in class.
The test fits the overall unit because it used different questions to recap and express everything we had learned about forces and the way it acts on objects or planets.
I have learned that gravitational forces act in many ways and are used in different ways to help calculate the change of position of distance of an object in space or earth itself.
The challenging part of this assignment was the understanding of this concept and how to apply the information learned in class into these questions.
I could improve on this assignment by doing research and asking my teacher for a better example and hep me better understand the purpose of this units and its content.
By redoing this assignment i would be doing test corrections were the teacher would explain where i went wrong and how to better improve my skills in the subject to better grasp the purpose.
AA: Friction
This assignment is an example of friction, and how they function in certain situations. Especially through different scenarios and how it various depending on the surface.
The objective of this assignment was to explain our understanding of what we did for our lab and explain the context behind the data we collected.
The assignment fits the overall unit because we were talking about the way friction plays a factor in certain things like sliding down a hill or moving an object over a desk. We learned to calculate this factor and how it worked.
I have learned that Static friction prevents objects from moving when they are pushed or pulled. It’s similar to the resistance you’d feel when trying to push a heavy box. When you get past that resistance and the object begins to move, you’ve entered the world of kinetic friction.
This assignment showcases my strengths in this subject because I was able to apply my skills in research, modeling, and reasoning to model my prompt and meet the requirements.
I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to understand the procedure, and created a nice concept for my conclusion.
This assignment connects to a larger world or community because it could be used as a reference to demonstrate the experiment and help people understand Friction.
AA: Work and Energy Lab Report
The work-energy theorem will be demonstrated in this lab by comparing the work performed by a constant force on an object with the kinetic energy present in the object.
The objective of this assignment was to explain our understanding of what we did for our lab and explain the context behind the data we collected.
It fits with the overall unit because it uses different resources and what we know to create a report on our data and explain what we have doesn't and what would have affected our data. .
I have learned that Energy, on the other hand, refers to the work that happens when you apply energy to an object to cause it to move. The movement of an object makes it possible to observe this concept.
The challenging part of this assignment was the understanding of this concept and how to apply the information learned in class into these questions.
I could improve on this assignment by doing research and asking my teacher for a better example and hep me better understand the purpose of this units and its content.
By redoing this assignment i would be doing corrections where the teacher would explain where i went wrong and how to better improve my skills in the subject to better grasp the purpose.
Q: Equations and Units
This assignment was a quiz that demonstrated our understanding of the Unit we were learning about. This was to show that we understood the material and were able to answer questions
The objective of this assignment was to explain our understanding of what we did throughout the unit and put are knowledge to the test.
The assignment fits the overall unit because we were talking about torque and power, which were based on scenarios. The quiz was to demonstrate if we knew and understood the units used in this scenario.
I have learned that Impulse is the change of momentum of an object when the object is acted upon by a force for a certain time. I also learned that Momentum is a measurement of mass in motion: how much mass is in how much motion.
This assignment showcases my strengths in this subject because I was able to apply my skills in research, modeling, and reasoning to model my prompt and meet the requirements.
I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to use what i understood and get a good grade based on what we've been learning.
This assignment also helps us by showing what we could work on and what we could do better, next time.
AA: Collisions PhET Lab Report
This lab demonstrated the Impulse and momentum behind three different types of collisions. Each were based on different masses and velocity changes. This was used to find out how each was conserved.
The objective of this assignment was to explain our understanding of what we did for our lab and explain the context behind the data we collected.
It fits with the overall unit because at the moment we were learning about the conservation of impulse and momentum in different types of collisions.
I have learned that Conservation of linear momentum is a fundamental principle in physics that states that the total momentum of a closed system remains constant if no external forces are acting on it. This means that in the absence of external forces, the total momentum before an event is equal to the total momentum after the event.
Quiz: Torque and rotation
This assignment was a quiz that demonstrated our understanding in Torque and Rotation. This was to show that we understood the material and were able to answer questions by applying what we have learned.
The objective was to successfully answer questions based on the lab and procedure, to show that we understood what we had to do.
This fit in with the overall unit because we were learning about Torque and how it applies to the movement of certain objects. Also how this force is applied to objects in real life.
AA Rotational Static Equilibrium
This lab demonstrated Rotational Static Equilibrium. The Task was to to document the data corresponding to the experiment and help create an understanding of that data, to establish a more complete understanding.
The objective of this assignment was to explain our understanding of what we did for our lab and explain the context behind the data we collected.
It fits with the overall unit because at the moment we were learning rotational movement and how to apply it to a real life scenario.
I have learned that in rotational static equilibrium, an object is balanced and not rotating. This means that the sum of all torques acting on the object must be zero and the tension being applied in the system plays a crucial role in achieving balance.
