Step 1: Look at the artwork and answer questions 1-3.

Step 2: Watch the Brain Pop Jr. video.

Step 3: Think: Dr. Seuss’s books often taught a lesson. In The Lorax, Dr. Seuss wrote about the effects of deforestation and pollution in a town called Thneedville. How might you illustrate this?

Step 4: Listen to the read-aloud of The Lorax and look at the illustrations to get more ideas.

Step 5: Fold a piece of paper in half.

On one half of the paper draw Thneedville full of lush Truffula Trees.

On the other half of the paper draw what Thneedville looks like after the trees have been cut down and it is polluted.
