This week we are working on a school wide project honoring everyday heroes in our community. A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
During the time we have been away from school, there has been many people with different occupations across our community that have done their job to help others stay safe and provide them with the things they need. As artists we can honor those people by creating an artwork that recognizes their efforts and says thank you!
1. Think about a person in your community that is working to help others in some way as we are at home. What does that person do? What do they wear?
2. Draw your everyday hero lightly, so that you can add details and make changes if you need to. You can use the resources provided to assist you with drawing. No stick figures allowed, and be sure to take up the whole page!
3. Draw your hero's uniform as well as objects or symbols that represent your hero. (I chose to give the Doctor I drew a cape to represent that he is a superhero.)
4. Draw a background. You could draw where your hero works or add symbols that represent your hero and that your are thankful for them. Symbols are pictures that represent a word and help artists tell their story!
5. If you have art supplies at home use them to color in your hero.
6. Take an up-close photo and send it to Miss Ebling by email kebling@opschools.org. Remember, if you sign your name please make sure it is only your first name. I will be putting together a slideshow of everyone's artwork and sharing it.
