Speech Contests

OPRF participates in two Chinese speech contests. The Midwest Chinese Teachers' Alliance sponsors a contest for students currently enrolled in a Chinese program at the K-12 level; students are free to come up with their individual speech in the context of the general theme "Chinese and Me." Valparaiso University hosts a competition that is exclusively for high school students. Students in levels 1 and 2 present skits, while the upper levels deliver speeches on the topic of their choice. Our students have brought home gold, silver and bronze medals over the past years!
