Chinese 7/8A is an honors level course that continues to expose students to a variety of contemporary and historical topics with a focus on culture. Students further develop their interpersonal, interpretive and presentation communication skills. Chinese culture is explored through literary genres and the visual and performing arts. Students connect to contemporary Chinese life via biweekly “Current Events” presentations. A Cultural Connections project encourages students to take a deeper dive into one Chinese language and culture topic of their choice. Traditional characters are also introduced to this class. Prerequisite: Chinese 5/6A with a C or better grade, or teacher’s approval.
