We are immensely proud of our Senior Sixth Form Team, Key Stage Leaders, and Learner Voice Council (LVC) for the fantastic presentations they delivered in assembly during the week commencing December 1st! Their hard work and dedication to making Onslow St Audrey's a better school for everyone are truly inspiring.
Our Senior Sixth Form Team, focusing on Student Communications and Engagement, outlined their impressive plans for community benefit and sixth form funding through charity fundraising events. The chosen school charities for the year, agreed upon at the October School Council meeting , are The Ollie Foundation (focused on suicide prevention and awareness) and Herts Young Homeless (supporting 16-24 year olds at risk of homelessness in Hertfordshire)
The Key Stage Leaders and Student Democracy teams highlighted the progress made in giving students a voice:
School Council: The first School Council meeting took place in October with all class speakers. Key decisions made included voting for Key Stage Leaders , agreeing on school charities , and voting on the adaptation of the school uniform.
New Uniform Policy: As a result of the student vote, tailored, black, knee-length shorts will be part of the summer uniform. Additionally, skorts can be purchased from February for use in PE lessons during the summer term.
The Learner Voice Council updated us on their progress and the impact they had last year. The LVC is the students' voice on all things teaching and learning , and the programme has been running for four years.
Delivering an assembly to peers is an incredibly useful skill, helping to develop confidence and other key leadership qualities such as communication, oracy and public speaking. The students involved demonstrated these skills brilliantly. We are excited to see the continued positive impact of these dedicated students who embody our "Everyone Can Lead" strategy.
