We are delighted to announce that we have officially started our Eco-Schools application! This exciting journey is being led by our new Eco-Committee, with support from staff and some of the Everyone Active clubs.
So far, we have completed our Eco Review and identified the key areas we want to focus on this academic year. We are now in the process of developing our Action Plan, which will guide the projects we’ll be working on throughout the year.
Our planned projects include:
Biodiversity – Revamping the school pond, adding bird houses and feeders, and creating signs to identify the different plants around the school grounds.
Healthy Living – Planting and growing edible plants, and continuing to develop our well-being garden as a calm and nurturing outdoor space.
School Grounds – Planting new trees, running a gardening club, and creating a school allotment. We’re also adding more plants inside classrooms — a big thank you to Mrs Turner’s mum for kindly providing spider plant cuttings from her own collection and pots!
Water – Raising awareness about water conservation by putting up posters in toilets and sending information home to families.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far with donations, including our parents and local businesses. Your generosity is helping us bring our environmental projects to life and make a real difference in our school community. 🌿💚
