Over the past few months, our Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 rugby teams have had an unforgettable experience taking part in a schools’ rugby tournament hosted at the iconic StoneX Stadium, the home of Premiership giants Saracens. Stepping out onto a professional pitch was a moment the boys will remember for a long time, and they absolutely rose to the occasion.
Both teams played with fantastic spirit, showing ambition, kindness and responsibility throughout the competition. Their attitude on and off the pitch was exemplary, and they fully embraced the opportunity to test themselves in such a prestigious environment.
Mr Hawkesworth praised the boys highly, commenting,
“I am incredibly proud of them. They show no fear, they follow instructions brilliantly, and they represented the school superbly. I encourage all those involved to consider joining a local rugby club, as there is so much potential in this group.”
Assistant coach Mr Franklin also shared his thoughts on the Year 8s, saying,
“Despite unfortunately falling short in terms of results, the Year 8s showed terrific determination, resilience and character to perform the way they did at the state-of-the-art StoneX Stadium.”
We look forward to seeing the players continue their rugby journeys, and we are excited to enter our Year 7 team into the tournament after Christmas.
A huge well done to all involved, you did the school proud!
