You can access Google Chat by login into your Gmail account or by going to chat.google.com and login in with the Google account .
You can upload or share files and images via Google Chat by either clicking on the upload icon and selecting the file or image you would like to upload to the chat or by clicking the Google Drive icon and selecting the file you would like to share.
Spaces are a feature of Google Chat that allow persistent team chat and collaboration, with the ability to share files, assign tasks and review message history. Spaces are perfect for groups of any kind who want to work on a project or communicate around a shared interest.
Google Chat/Google Meet: Up to 400 participants in group conversations and up to 50,000 participants in spaces.
Google Chat is a secure communications tool designed to provide easy business communications within the Google Workspace ecosystem. With Google Chat, teams collaborate via text, build collaborative chat rooms, share documents, deliver presentations, and establish web conferences.
Create & assign a task in a space:
Select the space where you want to create a task. Add space task. Tip: In Gmail, you might have to expand the space to view the Tasks tab. Enter the task title.
To add more people to a space in Google Chat, add them to the member list or mention them directly in the space. Tips: If you use Chat with a Google Workspace account: You can add a Google Group to the space.
If you no longer want your Google Chat app to be available to users, you can turn off your Chat app, unpublish your app from Google Workspace Marketplace, or delete the Google Cloud project that's associated with the app.
Next to the file, click View in chat . Hover over the message with the file. Delete.
Send voice messages:
Open Google Messages .
Open or start a conversation.
Press and hold Mic .
Record your message.
Tap Send .
In Chat, open a message. Calendar invite. On the right, in the side panel, enter your meeting details. Send.
Schedule a meeting in Google Calendar from within a direct message (DM) or a space in Google Chat. You can set specific details for the meeting, such as subject, start time, or duration, or use the default settings for instant meeting scheduling.
On your computer, open Google Chat or Gmail. In Gmail: On the left > click Chat > Click New chat, enter a space name and add relevant people.
Google Chat is protected by the same anti-spam, anti-phishing, anti-malware technology that protects more than 2 billion Gmail inboxes.
On your computer, open Gmail. At the top right, next to your status indicator, click the Down arrow. Choose Automatic, Do not disturb, or Set as away.
You can communicate with a group of people through spaces or direct messages in Chat. Both forms of communication work in different ways and serve different purposes: Spaces: A central place where people can share files, assign tasks, and stay connected. Direct messages: Chat directly with a group.
Premium Meet features include:
Breakout rooms - Moderators can use breakout rooms to divide participants into smaller groups during meetings.
Polls - Moderators can create polls for participants to vote on during meetings.
Live streaming - Moderators can live stream a meeting so others can watch without being in the call.
Q&A - Participants can ask moderators questions from within the meeting.
Noise cancellation- Participants can filter out background noise to help limit distractions during a call.
Attendance tracking - Moderators can get a report on who attended their meetings and live streams.
Record a meeting - Moderators can record meetings for others to watch later.
Anonymous joins - Anyone invited to your meeting can join on their computer, even if they aren't signed into a Google Account.
Dial-in-numbers- US and some international phone numbers are available for dial-in at no charge.
Dial-out - In the US and Canada, you can dial out to phone numbers or have Google Meet call you to join a meeting at no extra cost.
Maximum call length - Users can have one-on-one calls and group calls for up to 24 hours.
Multiple co-hosts - Meeting hosts can add up to 25 co-hosts to their meetings.
Translated captions - You can use translated captions to translate spoken English into French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Live stream meet calls to YouTube - You can use Google Meet to Live stream a meeting publicly to YouTube. Live stream meet calls to Youtube.
Control slides presentations in Google Meet - In a web browser, you can control Google Slides presentations in a Google Meet video meeting.
On your computer, start a meeting.
At the bottom right > click Activities > Breakout rooms.
In the breakout rooms creation panel, choose the number of breakout rooms. You can create up to 100 breakout rooms in a call.
Call participants are distributed across the rooms. To manually move people into different rooms, you can:
Enter the participant's name directly into a breakout room.
Drag and drop a participant's name into another breakout room.
Click Shuffle to randomly mix up the groups.
At the bottom right, click Open rooms.
Create a poll :
In a meeting, at the bottom right > click Activities > click Polls > click Start a poll.
Enter a question and add options for the poll.
Choose one:
To post your poll, click Launch and to save your poll so that you can launch it later, click Save.
After a poll is launched, to vote on your own poll, select one of the option, click Vote.
