- On May 12, 1780, Ben Lincoln unconditionally surrendered Charleston and gave 4,650 soldiers to The British.
- There were 260 guns afloat and forty guns at Fort Moultrie.
- At 3 o’clock in the morning on the 14th, The British reached the American Post, catching them completely with surprise and routing them.
