In addition to participating in the AVID Elective, students can expect to see AVID instructional strategies implemented by their teachers in class. Such strategies are designed to help students access rigorous content, learn strong study skills and stay organized. To learn more about AVID check out the AVID website (www.avid.org) or contact the Ogden High AVID Site Coordinator Mrs. Jaci Durtschi (durstchij@ogdensd.org). Both the AVID elective and AVID content instructional strategies aim to develop in students:
Like IB, AVID is an inquiry based program that aims to to help students learn skills and academic habits that will help them be successful in college and their chosen career. Both programs implement strategies to help students learn how to learn. It's not enough to study more. AVID & IB help students learn how to study better and more efficiently.
