The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a rigorous internationally-minded curriculum for the last two years of high school. Whether or not a student is taking the full diploma (see below), all Diploma courses can lead to the award of an official IB certificate and possibly college credit. This is contingent upon a student completing all internal and external assessment, including examinations, in these subjects.
The full IB Diploma and individual IB Certificates are accepted as entry qualifications to colleges and universities throughout the world. In many universities, the IB exam results are also used to determine student placement, with universities granting credit for IB courses up to an entire year's worth of credit. Always speak with the appropriate university representative to get the most up to date information regarding university transfer policies.
