Many colleges and universities are now test-optional, meaning students are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores for admission. Instead, schools place greater emphasis on:
High school grades
Course rigor (A–G, AP, dual enrollment, etc.)
Extracurricular involvement and leadership
Personal statements/essays
Submitting test scores is optional. Strong scores may strengthen an application, but students who do not test—or who choose not to submit scores—will still be considered for admission, scholarships, and financial aid at most test-optional schools.
If you would like to take the SAT/ACT, please check in with your counselor to see if you qualify for a fee waiver!
