A–G courses are a series of high school classes that students must successfully complete to be eligible for admission to the California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) systems.
The goal of the A–G curriculum is to ensure students build a strong foundation in core subjects that prepares them for college and beyond. OP is proud to offer A–G–approved courses to all students and requires a grade of C or better in all A–G coursework.
Understanding and completing A–G eligibility requirements is an essential step in successful college planning. CSU and UC schools require students to complete the following courses with a C or better:
A: History/Social Science – 2 years
B: English – 4 years
C: Mathematics – 3 years (UC recommends 4 years)
D: Laboratory Science – 2 years (UC recommends 3 years)
E: Language Other Than English – 2 years (UC recommends 3 years)
F: Visual & Performing Arts – 1 year
G: College Preparatory Elective – 1 year
