You can arrange any column in the Gradebook according to your preference. You can use a preset arrangement by assignment name, due date, points, or module, or you can manually arrange columns. You can also manually increase and decrease the width of any column.
The option to arrange columns affects all the columns in the Gradebook. To only view specific columns, you can also filter columns by type (Canvas Community).

You can weight final grades based on assignment groups. Selecting this option assigns a weight to each assignment group, not the assignments themselves. Within each assignment group, a percentage is calculated by dividing the total points a student has earned by the total points possible for all assignments in that group.

SpeedGrader makes it easy to evaluate individual student assignments and group assignments quickly. In SpeedGrader, all values for an assignment are loaded and saved in the browser, including student submission data, any grades (including original grades for resubmitted assignments), rubrics, and comments. This behavior reduces load time while using SpeedGrader, allowing instructors to grade all submissions quickly without continually refreshing the browser. Advancing from one submission to the next does not dynamically load any updated content.
For assignments where students will be using G-Suite Tools (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.), we recommend using the Google Assignments integration. Not only does this tool create copies for all students, it houses them in organized folders in the instructor's Google Drive so you can view them while in-process (very helpful for online learning). It also provides inline grading similar to the SpeedGrader.

Using Google Assignments in Canvas (Google Assignments Help)
1) Ensure you have listed a due date on the assignment. Not only will this add the assignment to students' to do lists, it will assign it to the current term and ensure it syncs to your gradebook.
2) Ensure you have selected an assignment type that is graded vs one that is ungraded. (Practice quizzes and ungraded surveys are ungraded, while graded quizzes and graded surveys are graded.)
3) From the assignments page, ensure that the assignment is published (green check mark at far right side of the assignment).
4) Check your grade posting policy in Canvas.
